Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Willow: Gentle Habits ("Willow", "the app", "we", "us"), a mobile application by kodmap, handles information when you use it on iOS and Android.
The short version. Willow does not collect anything. There is no account, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no server. Every habit you track stays on your device. The Android build does not even request the INTERNET permission — the app has no way to send your data anywhere, and that is by design.
1. Information we process
None that reaches us. Willow has no backend and makes no network requests. The information you create in the app — habit names, notes, the reason you started a habit, daily check-offs, skipped days, amounts, moods, reminder times, and your settings — is written to your device's private storage and stays there.
- iOS: stored in the app's container, shared with Willow's own home-screen widget through a private app group so the widget can show today's habits. Nothing leaves the device.
- Android: stored in the app's private database and preferences, read by Willow's own home-screen widget in the same process sandbox.
2. What we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, location, advertising identifier, or device identifiers. We do not use analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. We do not embed advertising or tracking libraries. We do not build profiles, and we have no data to sell, because we never receive any.
3. Notifications
Habit reminders are local notifications. Your device's own operating system schedules and shows them at the times you choose; no push server is involved and no notification token is created or transmitted. If you deny or revoke the notification permission, the rest of the app keeps working.
4. Backups and export
Willow can export your data as a JSON or CSV file, and restore from one. The export is created on your device and handed to your operating system's share sheet, so you choose where it goes — a file, a note, a message, a cloud drive of your choosing. We never see the file, and we never upload it. Restoring reads a file you pick. There is no automatic cloud sync.
5. Purchases
Willow's core tracker is free. An optional Willow Pro purchase unlocks additional features. Payment is processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not see or store your payment card details, billing address, or store account. Willow only records, on your device, whether Pro is unlocked.
6. App lock
If you turn on the optional app lock, your PIN is stored on your device only. Biometric unlock is performed by iOS or Android; Willow never receives your fingerprint or face data — only a yes/no result from the system.
7. Data retention, security and deletion
Because your data never leaves your device, its security is the security of your device: use a device passcode, and Willow's optional app lock for a second layer.
You are always in control of deletion:
- delete an individual habit or day from inside the app;
- uninstall Willow to remove everything it stored;
- export first if you want to keep a copy.
Uninstalling deletes your local data permanently and irreversibly. We hold no copy, so there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf, and no server-side account to close. If you have a question or a request, write to us at https://willow.kodmap.co/en/contact or kodmapdev@gmail.com.
8. Children
Willow is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone — including children — because we do not collect information at all.
9. Changes to this policy
If Willow ever gains a feature that changes any of the above — cloud sync, for example — we will update this policy and describe the change here before that feature ships.
